Description:
Surf Life Saving Queensland is looking forsomeone who is passionate about and actively engaged in surf lifesaving sportsand seeking a challenging, high energy, and fun role. This job is an excitingopportunity to work with surf lifesaving clubs in North Queensland.
The Sports Coordinator will be primarilyresponsible to plan, implement programs and provide support to the 5 Surf LifeSaving Clubs that make up the North Queensland Branch with the goal of growingmembership levels and increasing participation of existing members. They willengage both staff and volunteers directly and through specialist committees inthe development, implementation, monitoring and review of events and programsthat enhance skills and fitness to ensure continuous improvement and participationat all levels. The role is funded by the Queensland Government – Department ofCommunities with funding provided for the position for up to 3 years with theposition to potentially continue at the end of the funding period dependant ongoals achieved throughout the position and the financial viability ofcontinuing this position to be considered after 3 years. Other duties include,but are not limited to: Liaising with the 5 North Queensland Surf LifeSaving Clubs from Mission Beach through to Port Douglas inclusive. Developingand implementing regional and club specific sport coaching programs and eventsto assist in the recruitment and retention of new members and existing membersrespectively for members aged from 10 years up to masters category. Coordination and support for Surf Life SavingCoaching and Officiating courses and professional development activities
